What the Orb Kept

The Ghost Wing — Crystal Orb Wing Pendant Necklace is a retro gothic pendant — a crystal orb cradled in dark wings, available in silvery, red, and pink. Luna brought it back from the upper Ashen Plains. Chelle read it the next morning. What she found in it is not something either of them has discussed since.
Chelle does not read everything that comes through the portal. She reads what asks to be read — and some things ask louder than others.
The Ghost Wing had been on the counter overnight. Luna had set it down without ceremony the evening before — three of them, silvery, red, pink — and gone to bed without explaining where she'd been or what the upper Plains had been like. Cinder had settled near the door. Ash had circled the counter once and then gone still, which she almost never does, which meant she had decided something about the pendants and was keeping it to herself.
Chelle came downstairs in the early morning, barefoot, before the light had fully committed to the day. She saw the pendants on the counter and stopped. Not because they were unexpected — Luna brought things back, that was the arrangement — but because the silvery one was catching the pre-dawn light in a way that crystal does not usually catch light at that hour. Holding it. Returning it warmer than it arrived.
She picked it up. Held it in both hands, the way she holds things she is reading — not gripping, just present, letting the frequency come to her rather than reaching for it. Her blue eyes went quiet. Not the glow of active magic. The particular stillness that comes before it, when she is listening to something most people cannot hear.
She stood there for a while. Midnight lowered his head through the skylight — slowly, without the rumble, which meant he already knew what she was finding and had decided to witness rather than comment. Ash lifted her head from the floor and watched. Cinder did not move, but his ears shifted forward, which is how Cinder pays attention when he does not want anyone to know he is paying attention.
Chelle set the silvery one down. Picked up the red. Same stillness. Then the pink. When she set the last one down she smoothed her hair back with one hand — the gesture she makes when she has finished processing something and is deciding what, if anything, to say about it.
She said nothing. She made tea. She went back upstairs.
Luna came down an hour later, found the pendants exactly where she had left them, and looked at the kitchen. The tea was still warm. She looked at Midnight. He tilted his great head — not the tilt of curiosity, the other one, the one that means ask Chelle. Luna did not ask Chelle. She picked up the silvery pendant, held it to the morning light, and looked at the orb inside the wing for a long moment. Whatever Chelle had found in it, the orb was not giving it up a second time. It just held the light the way it always had — warmly, quietly, as if it had been doing this for a very long time and intended to keep doing it regardless of who was looking.
The wing holds what it holds. That is the whole answer. The orb carries what the wing protects, and what the wing protects is not always meant to be explained — only worn, only kept close, only allowed to do what it has been doing since before Luna found it in the high grey country above the Corrupt Forest where the light does not quite reach the ground.
Chelle has not said what she found in the orb. She will not. Some readings are not for sharing — they are for holding, the way the wing holds the crystal, the way the crystal holds the light. The pendants are on the counter. The morning comes through the Attic windows the way it always does. The orb catches it and returns it changed. That is enough.

What is the Ghost Wing pendant?
A retro gothic crystal orb pendant cradled in dark wings — available in silvery, red, and pink. Luna found it in the upper Ashen Plains, the high grey country where the light doesn't quite reach the ground. The wing holds what it holds. The orb carries what the wing protects.
What did Chelle find in the orb?
She has not said. She read all three — silvery, red, pink — in the early morning before the light had fully committed to the day. She set them down, made tea, and went back upstairs. The orb did not give it up a second time. Some readings are not for sharing.
What are the three finishes?
Silvery, red, and pink — each orb a different register of the same thing: the light that gets in, and what happens to it once the wing closes around it. Select at checkout.
Who is Chelle?
Auburn hair, freckled face, deep blue eyes. Earth magician and healer. She does not read everything that comes through the portal — only what asks to be read. The Ghost Wing asked. She answered. She has not shared what she found.
