Luna does not go looking for things in the Aether-Reach. She goes through the Reach — on her way somewhere, on her way back, passing through the threshold the way someone passes through a room they know well enough not to have to think about. She is not a browsing person. She does not wander. The board was not in the way. He tilted his head once — the single slow tilt of something encountering a frequency it respects without fully knowing where it originated. He did not elaborate. Midnight never elaborates. He simply was there, and then he went back up to the rooftop, and the room held what he had left in it, which was the particular quality of quiet that follows a very old thing recognizing something older.
