White openwork halter crop top in Hidden Mist Valley forest light, with the leafy canopy softly blurred behind it.

The Cut the Wind Remembered

The Mist Valley Crop Top — Boho Festival Tops Collection is a lightweight, breathable top offered in 12 styles, including halter, spaghetti strap, tassel, hollow-out, and back-lace cuts, in white and apricot. It is one size, recommended for 40–65kg, with a 31cm length and 62–87cm bust measurement.

In the Hidden Mist Valley, the Silken Court knew a garment was finished when the air could pass through it without asking permission.

Twelve tops hung in the Court’s workroom, each cut a little differently. A halter neck rested beside a back-laced style; open details gave way to the narrow lines of spaghetti straps; tassels waited at the edge of one hem, still as seed heads before wind.

They were white and apricot, colors that belonged beneath a canopy where the light arrived in pieces. None was meant to be worn as a uniform. The Court had no use for clothing that asked every body to become the same shape.

One of the fairies lifted the tassel style from its place and carried it toward the open side of the workroom. A warm current moved through the canopy. The top stirred, caught the air, and slipped from the fairy’s hands.

It traveled over a low branch, through a patch of sun, and down toward the green shadow below. The fairy followed. Not because the garment was precious beyond measure, but because the valley had made it for someone who would need it intact.

A dragonfly crossed the same shaft of light. The top turned once in the air, the loose cut opening and settling as it moved. The fairy caught it before it reached the ground. For a moment, the valley’s light passed through the open detail and made a pattern on the leaves.

That was the test.

Not whether the top could hold its shape in stillness. Not whether it looked beautiful laid flat. Whether it moved with a wearer, whether air could travel where it needed to, whether the person inside it could reach, turn, dance, and breathe without thinking about the garment at all.

The Court returned it to the others. The twelve cuts remained different. A wearer could choose the neckline, the straps, the lace, the tassels, or the cleaner line. The choice belonged to the person who would wear it, not to the hands that had made it.

When the bundle was ready, the tops were folded together and sent through the portal. They carried no instruction about who should choose which style. Only the quiet work of the valley: make room for light, let the body move, and leave the final decision to the wearer.

The bundle reached the Attic. Much later, the Silken Court’s handiwork would find its way onto a display among crystals, festival pieces, and the particular things Chelle knew how to recognize. Each top kept its own cut. Each waited for someone to choose it for herself.

The Court had not dressed a stranger. It had made room for one.

The Hidden Mist Valley does not tell anyone what to become. It gives the living things there room to become it.
