The Moon Threshold — Spirit Cat Pendulum Board is a black round pendulum board — lunar and feline motifs, hand-finished, approximately 20cm diameter. A divination surface for pendulum work, meditation, and decision-making. The spirit cat and the moon are not decorative choices. They are the oldest symbols of Hecate's threshold — the place where the question is asked and the answer is already known.
Chelle does not use a pendulum board to find out what she doesn't know. She uses it to confirm what she already does. This is the correct use. The board does not speak. It listens to the part of you that speaks before the thinking starts — the part that already has the answer and has been waiting, with the particular patience of things that do not need to hurry, for the rest of you to catch up.
She found this one in the Aether-Reach — not at the threshold proper, but at the edge of it, where the mist condenses into drops that are already crystals before they finish falling and the light comes from directions that don't correspond to any sun. The cat was the first thing she noticed. Not a living cat — the image of one, worked into the black surface with the precision of something made by someone who understood that the cat at the threshold is not a symbol of mystery but a symbol of knowing. The cat knows. The cat has always known. The cat simply watches you work out whether you're ready to know it too.
The moon above it is the triple moon — maiden, mother, crone, the three faces of Hecate at the crossroads. Not a phase. A state. The board does not know what time of month it is. It knows what kind of question is being asked. The triple moon orients the board toward the right kind of listening — not prediction, not fortune-telling, not the cheap theatrics of a thing pretending to know the future. The board is a mirror for the part of you that is already at the crossroads and already knows which road leads where.
The pendulum goes above the surface. The surface holds the questions. The cat watches. The moon orients. You hold the cord and you ask the thing you have been afraid to ask and the pendulum moves in the direction of the answer you already had. That is the whole mechanism. It is sufficient.
Chelle brought three of them back. She does not explain why three. The Aether-Reach gives what it gives, in the quantities it chooses, and the correct response is to carry what you're given and ask questions later.
Midnight lowered his head through the skylight when she set them on the counter. He looked at the spirit cat worked into the surface of the nearest board. He looked at her. He rumbled once — the recognition rumble, low and certain. He has been watching the Aether-Reach from altitude since before the mist learned to make crystals. He is not going to start explaining what he knows about what lives at Hecate's threshold now. He tilted his great head. The cat on the board seemed, in the particular light of the Attic at that hour, to tilt its head back.
The threshold is still there, in the Aether-Reach, where the mist condenses into crystals mid-fall and the light arrives from directions without names. The cat knows which road leads where. So do you. The board is for the moment when you are ready to stop pretending otherwise.

What is a pendulum board?
A divination surface used with a suspended pendulum — crystal, metal, or weighted cord — held above the board while you ask a question. The pendulum's movement (yes/no, directional, circular) is read as a response. The board provides the orientation and the framework. The pendulum provides the movement. You provide the question. The answer was already there before you asked.
What does the spirit cat symbolize?
The cat at the threshold is one of Hecate's oldest symbols — not mystery, but knowing. The cat knows which road leads where. It watches you work out whether you're ready to know it too. On a pendulum board, the spirit cat orients the practice toward the correct kind of question: not "what will happen" but "what do I already know that I haven't admitted yet."
What does the triple moon mean?
Maiden, mother, crone — the three faces of Hecate, the Triune goddess, the full cycle of knowing. Not a lunar phase marker but a state of attention: the board is oriented toward the kind of listening that does not predict, it reflects. The triple moon above the spirit cat makes this a Hecate board — threshold magic, crossroads energy, the wisdom that exists at the place between one thing and another.
Is this for beginners?
Yes. The mechanism is simple: hold the pendulum above the board, ask the question you have been afraid to ask, and read the movement. The practice deepens over time — not because the board changes, but because you become more honest with yourself about what you already know. That is the real skill. The board just gives you a place to practice it.
