The necklace showed up on the workbench the same night the storm rolled through Ravenswood — which Luna took as a sign, because she took most things as signs when the timing was right.
Stainless steel, punk-edged, the rivet studs running the length of the choker like something between armor and ornament. She picked it up and held it under the lamp. The silver caught the light clean — no tarnish, no soft edges, the kind of finish that doesn't apologize for itself. She turned it over. The pendant hung centered, weighted just enough to feel intentional when it moved.
She fastened it around her neck without a mirror.
It sat exactly where a choker should — close to the throat, present without being tight, the studs catching the light every time she turned her head. She pulled on her jacket and looked down at it once. The steel against the black fabric looked like it had always been there, like the jacket had been waiting for exactly this.
Cinder padded over and sniffed the pendant once, then walked away satisfied.
"Good," Luna said to no one in particular.
Outside, the storm was still going. Inside the Attic, the lamp flickered once and held. Some things come through the portal already knowing where they belong. This one had known since before it arrived.
Steel doesn't soften. Neither do the people who wear it.
