Collection: Spiritual and Metaphysical: Mystic Realms
There is a week, every year, when the veil gets thin enough that even the Attic holds its breath.
Chelle and Luna call it Samhain. The crystals call it something older.
It starts the same way every time — the pendulums come down from their iron hook above the display, the tarot cards come out of their black silk, the rune sets get laid across the scarred oak counter in the back room, and for seven days the girls do what the season demands. Ouija. Pendulum swings. Rune casts. Tarot pulls at midnight with the candles low and Midnight circling the rooftop so slowly it looks like he's keeping time. This is the Spiritual and Metaphysical: Mystic Realms collection — tarot cards, pendulums, rune sets, crystal pendants, Hecate amulets, chakra stones, and sacred tools for anyone who has ever felt the veil and wanted to reach through it.
It is, by all accounts, a sacred week. It is also, by all accounts, absolutely chaotic.
No one is certain who started it first. Chelle will tell you it was Luna. Luna will tell you it was Chelle. The truth, as best anyone can reconstruct it, is that they both had the same idea at approximately the same moment — which, given that they spend most of their waking hours in a shop full of metaphysical amplifiers, should probably not have surprised anyone.
Chelle went first, technically, in the sense that she acted first. She slipped one of the Witch's Knot Wiccan Celtic Magic Amulet pendants under Luna's pillow on the second night — not cursed, exactly, just tuned. Chelle has a gift for tuning things. Luna woke up the next morning unable to walk in a straight line for six and a half hours. She kept listing left and claiming her foot wouldn't wake up. Cinder followed her around looking concerned. Ash sat in the doorway and watched with the expression of a wolf who has seen this before and has opinions.
Luna said nothing. She straightened up, listed left again, grabbed the counter, and smiled. That smile should have been a warning.
By the third night, Chelle found a Triple Moon Goddess Necklace hanging from her bedpost that she absolutely had not put there. She recognized the placement immediately — deliberate, intentional, the stone angled just so toward the window where the moonlight would hit it at 3 AM. She took it down, examined it, put it back. Went to sleep. Woke up at 3 AM to the distinct and deeply inconvenient sensation that her legs were quickly growing hair. Twelve hours. She counted.
She did not tell Luna she had counted.
On the fourth day Luna came into the shop to find that someone had arranged the 7-piece Hexagon Pillar Quartz set in a circle on her side of the counter — a very specific circle, the kind Chelle uses for amplification work. Luna stood in the middle of it for thirty seconds before she felt it. A low hum. A warmth behind the sternum. A sudden and overwhelming urge to be extremely honest about her feelings. She stepped out of the circle immediately. "Nice try," she said to the room.
The Obsidian Tourmaline Bracelet appeared on Luna's wrist the next morning. She has no memory of putting it on. It is, Chelle explained cheerfully, very grounding. Very calming. Excellent for someone who tends to run a little — she searched for the word — reactive. Luna wore it for two days before she figured out how to take it off.
The fairy dust incident is not discussed in detail. What is known: Luna deployed it on Chelle during what appeared to be a very good dream, judging by the expression on Chelle's face. The tickling of the feet that followed was, Luna maintains, a mercy. Chelle hit the floor, came up swinging, and knocked the entire pendulum display sideways. The pendulums, which had never fully stopped swinging since they arrived, swung harder for the rest of the day.
Midnight watched all of this from the rooftop. He did not intervene. He tilted his great head once, slowly, in the manner of something ancient observing something it finds both baffling and deeply familiar. Ash knocked over the Hecate necklace display on day six. Nobody could prove it was intentional. The look on his face suggested he knew exactly what he'd done.
By the seventh night they were back at the table together — pendulum, runes, cards, candles — the sacred week closing the way it always does. Quiet. Focused. The veil at its thinnest, the room humming with everything that had passed through it. Chelle drew a card from the deck she hadn't touched since it arrived. Looked at it. Set it face-down on the table. Luna didn't ask what it was. Some things the season keeps to itself.
The veil thins every year. What comes through depends entirely on what you're willing to find.
